Somatic trauma therapy in English – in Berlin-Kreuzberg
I’m Martin van de Loo, a certified NARM therapist and Somatic Experiencing practitioner with a practice in Berlin-Kreuzberg. I’m licensed in Germany to practise psychotherapy under the Heilpraktiker law (Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie). Alongside therapy, I also offer body-oriented coaching. Sessions of somatic therapy Berlin are available in English and German.
Overview of the most important questions you might have
Yes. All sessions are available in English or German – and you’re welcome to switch between languages if that feels more natural.
My practice is in the Bergmannkiez in Berlin-Kreuzberg. On Mondays I also see clients at Blücherstraße.
I’m not a medical doctor and I don’t make promises of healing. If you have physical symptoms, please have them checked by a doctor first. Therapy with me can complement medical treatment, but it doesn’t replace it.
Instead of a free consultation, the first session is longer. That gives us time to get to know each other and see whether working together feels right for you.
In the first sessions we clarify first what brings you here. And then we start working together. I am interested in what you wish for yourself and what comes in the way right now. At the end of the session you know better if the way how I work with you is what you are looking for. If there is something you’d like to change, we will discuss it and we agree on how we’ll work together.
Most of my clients pay privately. Some private insurance plans or supplementary insurances reimburse part of the costs – please check this with your insurer beforehand; reimbursement is at your own risk.
In cash or by invoice. One session is 95 €.
Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Sessions cancelled later than that will be charged.
Please tell me directly in a session rather than by text or email. Conflicts are a normal part of a therapeutic relationship – and talking about them can be an important part of the work.
Therapy focuses on psychological distress and its roots – often old patterns and trauma. Coaching focuses on goals and next steps in your life or work. In both, I work in a body-oriented way.
